Privacy Policy

What this site collects, why, and what you can do about it.

The short version

This site does not ask you for personal information, does not run a mailing list, and does not have accounts to log in to. It counts visits without cookies and without identifying anyone, and it links out to two booking sites without earning anything from them. That is the whole of it.

Analytics

Visits are measured with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which records the page viewed, the approximate country it was viewed from, the referring site, and the general type of device and browser. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device, and does not follow you to other sites. There is no profile of you as an individual, here or at Cloudflare, and nothing collected can identify you.

Loading a page therefore makes one request to Cloudflare's servers for the measurement script. If you would rather it did not, any tracker blocker will stop it, and the site works exactly the same without it.

Links to tickets, tours and accommodation are in some cases affiliate links to GetYourGuide and Booking.com. Following one takes you to that company's own site, where their privacy policy and cookies apply, not this one's. If you then book, this site is credited with the referral. The price you pay is unchanged. No affiliate tracking is active at present, so following one of these links currently credits nobody.

Every photograph on this site is downloaded, resized and served from this domain. Nothing is hotlinked, so viewing a page sends no request to Pexels, to Wikimedia Commons or to anyone else who might otherwise see that you were here. The photographs come from Pexels and from Wikimedia Commons under their respective licences, and every one is credited by name on the credits page.

Your rights

Under UK and EU data protection law you have the right to ask what personal data an organisation holds about you, to have it corrected, and to have it erased. Since this site holds no personal data about visitors, there is in practice nothing to request — but if you believe otherwise, write to hello@churchestovisit.com and it will be dealt with.
